
Tim is a Senior Advisor to First Reserve, a global private equity investment firm exclusively focused on energy. Tim retired in July 2014 as Strategic Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer of Halliburton. In this role he worked closely with the CEO on refining the Company’s overall corporate strategy. He was also a member of Halliburton’s Executive Committee.
Previously, Tim was President of Strategy and Corporate Development, where he also directed Halliburton’s global technology portfolio. Formerly he was President of Halliburton’s Global Business Lines, responsible for overseeing both Halliburton operating divisions. Earlier in his Halliburton career, he was President of Halliburton’s Drilling and Evaluation Division.
Before joining Halliburton in 2003, Mr. Probert was President and Chief Executive Officer of Input/Output, Inc. (NYSE: ION)
He previously held positions as President of Baker Hughes INTEQ, Baker Hughes Process Equipment, Eastman Teleco, and Milpark Drilling Fluids.
Mr. Probert serves on the Board of Directors of Hoover Ferguson Group and Vista Proppants and Logistics, First Reserve portfolio companies. He also serves on the Board of Alchemy Sciences. Additionally, he has served on the Board of Directors of Cameron (NYSE:CAM); Input/Output, Inc. (NYSE:IO); Core Laboratories (NYSE:CLB); and El Paso Corporation (NYSE:EP); True Oil Company. He has also served on the Corporate Advisory Board of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).
Mr. Probert began his career in 1972 as a field geologist with Exploration Logging Inc.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology and geography from the University of London.
